Panel upgrades and service changes

Older panels were sized for a different set of appliances. Adding EV charging, heat pumps, a shop or an addition often means the panel is the real constraint.

Serving the I-70 and Highway 82 corridors

From Battlement Mesa through Glenwood Springs, and up Highway 82 to Carbondale, El Jebel and Basalt.

A panel upgrade replaces the distribution equipment — and sometimes the incoming service — so the building has the capacity and protection it needs. It is also the point where obsolete or crowded panels get replaced with properly labelled equipment.

We look at the existing service size, how the building is used and what you are planning next, so the new panel accounts for future load rather than only today's. Where a full service change is not necessary, a sub-panel may be a more sensible way to feed a shop, garage or addition.

Panel work involves coordination with the utility and the local inspection authority. We handle that sequencing and explain what happens on the day, including how long power will be off.
